Pickett's Press was founded in 2003 by Kate Pickett.

Kate grew up drawing constantly. With an art teacher for a mother she was practically born with a paintbrush in her hand. In college she studied studio art in Florence and fell in love with line drawings and engraving.

Her love of stationery evolved through business school and shortly after graduating, she gave up an investment banking career to work for the owners of Kate’s Paperie in New York City as an “apprentice”, eventually becoming stationery buyer for the entire company.

After taking time off to have three children, she decided to combine what she learned in business school with her love of drawing and stationery and launched Pickett’s Press. Kate's re-entry into business was kick-started by a friend who remembered seeing Kate’s map at her wedding and commissioned one for her own!
